Add a Virtual Exchange/COIL to Your Fall 2025 Course
Are you interested in adding a global component to your course? Since 2021, UT Dallas has supported 81 Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) programs, also known as virtual exchange (VE), with 38 institutions in 22 countries.
We’re now planning for fall 2025 and inviting faculty to take part in the next round of collaborations.
If you would like help finding a VE/COIL faculty partner in a particular part of the world, or if you already have someone in mind, please complete this short VE/COIL Interest Form by June 1, 2025.
VE/COIL connects two or more courses taught by professors in different countries. Using a computer or phone with internet access, students meet through synchronous and asynchronous platforms, exchange ideas and work together in small teams to complete joint projects.
These collaborations typically last four to six weeks and are embedded within your course, with grading handled by each participating instructor. The collaborations can be interdisciplinary or between instructors teaching the same course. Read about current and past projects.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to bring international collaboration into your classroom.
